To support continuous learning and evidence-based decision-making, FEMI is currently in process of developing a Monitoring & Evaluation dashboard based on its Theory of Change and strategic KPIs.

What does our team look like?

We value cultural diversity and work with a small international team, including colleagues based in the Netherlands, Kenya and India. For this assignment, you will work closely with FEMI’s operational team and foremost with our Kenyan colleague. You will take part in regular team meetings and, where relevant, organisational events.

What will be your role?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and independent junior Monitoring & Evaluation Analyst to support FEMI in designing, developing and operationalizing its Monitoring & Evaluation dashboard. The dashboard will help FEMI and its partners to monitor progress, compare expected and actual outcomes, identify unexpected outcomes, and use evidence for learning. It will support partners to improve running projects and inform future strategy.

In this role you will:

• map FEMI’s past, current and planned collaboration with local partners using the partner-profile framework.

• further develop partner profiles covering partner type, FEMI’s involvement in projects and capacity strengthening, five-year ambitions and challenges, and potential exit indicators.

• develop partner-level dashboards with KPIs aligned to FEMI’s strategic KPIs.

• support the design and development of an organisational dashboard based on FEMI’s Theory of Change and strategic KPIs.

• ensure dashboards provide clear insight into partner performance, organisational progress, expected versus actual outcomes and impact, and unintended outcomes.

• use the agreed platform to create interactive visualisations, including outcome comparisons, trend charts, partner comparisons and organisational KPI-status.

• ensure clear indicator definitions, data-update procedures and a concise user guide.

• analyse available data and advise FEMI on how findings can inform its future strategy.

• support rollout through a short training or demonstration for FEMI staff and at least one local partner.

• gather user feedback and contribute to ongoing dashboard improvements.

The assignment will run for approximately four to six months, for an estimated 15 to 25 hours per week. Working hours can be discussed with the supervisor. The role is hybrid (working from home and office is possible), and the candidate should be based in the Netherlands.

Your profile

You recognise yourself in the following:

• you are pursuing or have recently completed a master’s degree in international development, data science, analytics, statistics, or a related field.

• you understand Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL), Theory of Change and KPI-based reporting.

• you have strong Excel skills and experience with dashboards or data-visualisation tools.

• you are interested in applying data analysis and dashboard development within international development.

• You work accurately, independently and meet deadlines.

• You communicate clearly in English and engage sensitively across cultures.

• You are motivated to contribute to a small, international and mission-driven organisation.

Nice to have:

• Experience with data-collection tools, databases or data transformation.

• Internship or work experience with NGOs, community-based organisations or international development programmes.

• Presentation, facilitation or training skills, particularly for supporting non-technical users.
