As a Statistical Programmer you will be responsible for reporting (clinical) trials. Your activities will consist of the analysis and reporting of clinical and pre-clinical trials using the SAS programming language. Our clients are leading companies in the life sciences industry in areas such as pharmaceutics, nutrition, and devices. At OCS Consulting, we work in a hybrid setup, meaning you can work from home, from our office, or occasionally from a client’s site. You have sound knowledge of SAS Base and SAS Macro. You know what it means to work in a regulated environment and are aware of the importance of quality. You are able to deliver within the expected timeframe. Furthermore you know how to adapt to your working environment: formal when required, informal when possible.
bring at least three to five years of experience with SAS Base and SAS Macro
are at least SAS Base certified, or have the willingness to obtain the certificate

Permanent contract (full-time or part-time: 32–36 hours per week)
Salary of €52.000 - €77.000 gross per year (depending on experience and including 8% holiday allowance)

De Statistical Programmer speelt een belangrijke rol binnen klinisch onderzoek en data-analyse. Je verwerkt, structureert en analyseert grote hoeveelheden onderzoeksdata uit clinical trials en zorgt ervoor dat datasets voldoen aan internationale standaarden zoals CDISC, SDTM en ADaM. Daarbij werk je nauw samen met biostatistici, data managers, clinical research associates en medische teams om betrouwbare analyses en rapportages op te leveren voor onderzoek, registraties en publicaties.
In deze functie combineer je statistische kennis met programmeervaardigheden. Veel werkgevers zoeken ervaring met SAS, R of Python, evenals kennis van statistische methoden, datavalidatie en regelgeving binnen de farmaceutische sector. Je ontwikkelt analysebestanden, tabellen, listings en figures (TLF’s) en ondersteunt studies van fase I tot en met fase IV. Ook kwaliteitscontrole, reproduceerbaarheid en documentatie zijn essentieel binnen deze rol.
Omdat regelgeving en onderzoeksmethoden continu veranderen, blijft het vakgebied zich ontwikkelen. Werkgevers zoeken daarom professionals die nauwkeurig werken, analytisch sterk zijn en ervaring hebben met internationale richtlijnen en kwaliteitsstandaarden. Kennis van GCP, FDA- of EMA-richtlijnen en moderne programmeeromgevingen wordt steeds belangrijker, zeker nu automatisering en AI ook binnen clinical data science een grotere rol gaan spelen.
Salarissen voor statistical programmers liggen doorgaans hoog vanwege de specialistische kennis die gevraagd wordt. Junior statistical programmers starten vaak tussen 3.500 en 4.500 euro bruto per maand. Medior en senior specialisten verdienen meestal tussen 5.000 en 7.500 euro, afhankelijk van ervaring, certificeringen en kennis van complexe klinische studies. Freelance specialisten en consultants binnen pharma of biotech kunnen daar ruim boven zitten.
