As an Independent Chef de Partie at , you’ll work in a unique waterfront location on Amsterdam’s IJ, where street art, accessible food, music, and hospitality come together. You are responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of our dishes.
You will work with an all-day menu designed for a broad audience, featuring bar snacks, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other crowd favorites. You maintain quality and speed, keep the kitchen organized, and ensure that every dish is presented consistently and with care.
You start your shift by preparing mise-en-place and checking stock levels, orders, and upcoming reservations or events. You ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and fully prepared before service begins. During service, you independently prepare dishes from the menu. You work efficiently, maintain oversight, and consistently deliver high-quality food with an attractive presentation. You monitor deliveries and inventory, identify items that need replenishing, and contribute to minimizing waste. You work according to HACCP guidelines and help maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
For events and group reservations, you coordinate preparation and service according to the schedule. You can easily switch between regular service and larger groups and enjoy finding practical solutions to ensure smooth execution.
You will be part of a fun and energetic team. Together, you communicate clearly, support one another when needed, and ensure that every guest experiences Rafel as a welcoming and memorable destination.
Relevant experience as a Chef de Partie, Independent Cook, or in a similar kitchen role.
Ability to independently carry out mise-en-place and prepare dishes during service.
Structured, hygienic, and efficient working style.

Varied kitchen shifts during the day, evenings, and events.
Flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Start date: 1 November 2026
