Lead EC&I Engineer

This esteemed global client is an international multi-disciplinary engineering, project delivery and operations management group, predominantly focused on the mining, minerals and metals industry. With an extensive track record spanning four decades across a wide range of commodities.

We are looking for an experienced EC&I Engineer is responsible for leading the electrical, control systems, and instrumentation engineering function on mining, minerals processing, and infrastructure projects. This role is based in Johannesburg. Seize your chance and apply today!

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the EC&I engineering discipline on EPCM/EPCM mining and processing projects.

• Develop and review electrical, control, and instrumentation design deliverables.

• Manage discipline engineering teams and coordinate activities with other engineering disciplines.

• Ensure compliance with project, client, industry, and statutory requirements.

• Review and approve single-line diagrams, load lists, motor lists, control philosophies, instrument indexes, cable schedules, and technical specifications.

• Support procurement by evaluating vendor bids and reviewing supplier documentation.

• Provide technical oversight during construction, commissioning, and handover phases.

• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations for the EC&I discipline.

• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

• Professional registration (PR Eng/ECSA) preferred.

• 10+ years' experience in electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering.

• Significant experience in mining, minerals processing, EPCM, or heavy industrial projects.

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.

• Knowledge of IEC, SANS, IEEE, and relevant international standards.

• Experience with MV/LV power distribution, PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation, and process control.
