De Mussen is the oldest Community Centre in the Netherlands and is located in the heart of the Schilderswijk in The Hague. Every week, De Mussen is visited by over 2,000 local residents of all ages and diverse ethnic backgrounds. De Mussen offers children, young people, and their parents in the neighbourhood opportunities for development. We do this by developing and offering activities in the fields of Participation, Art & Culture, Health & Exercise, and Nature & Technology. De Mussen is an inspiring place where local residents can meet each other, develop their talents, and make their dreams come true. At De Mussen, we employ an integrated approach and build on the strength of the residents.
De Mussen is a small-scale organization with short lines of communication. The De Mussen team consists of 30 professionals and 40 colleagues through the The Hague STiP scheme. In addition, 140 volunteers and dozens of interns work at De Mussen.
