What it’s like to work at WSP
Associate, PMCM – Civil, Infrastructure and Utilities
I’m an Associate at WSP and I bring my experience - as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor – to delivering cost consultancy, contract administration and employer’s agent services for our clients on a diverse range of construction projects in sectors such as residential, commercial, heritage, public, and defence. My role spans the full development cycle and includes cost estimating, procurement, and pre- and post-contract cost and commercial management. I am currently working on large public sector programmes with sites located both within and outside of London.
WSP’s supportive, collaborative culture and commitment to excellence have empowered me to combine technical rigour with leadership - whether through mentoring RICS APC candidates, organising knowledge-sharing sessions, or contributing to professional development initiatives and technical training. The firm’s support for continuous learning, as reflected in my recent journey to NECReg accreditation, makes WSP a standout employer for professionals who want to grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact locally and internationally. If you're looking to join a company that values you, and clients, as well as expertise, innovation, and integrity, and is always ready for the future - WSP is the place to be.
Seven years ago, I joined WSP as a Graduate Engineer in the London Bridges Team. I originally joined WSP as I wanted to work on interesting transport projects and work with a forward-thinking company.
What I have found since joining is much more than that. The people and the culture here are second to none, everyone is incredibly supportive and encouraging. My colleagues helped me through chartership and provided a great community of people. The work life balance has been amazing, the projects have been interesting and engaging, but above all else my team and the people in the wider WSP community is what keeps me here. Everyone is always willing to collaborate and support each other which has become invaluable during difficult and challenging projects. I wouldn’t be half the engineer I am today without the support of my team and WSP.
Principal Engineer – Rail Engineering Services
I work at WSP because it’s genuinely a great place to grow and do meaningful work. The projects are interesting, the people are brilliant, and there’s a real sense of collaboration across the board. I’ve had the chance to work on some exciting rail and infrastructure challenges and have always had support and guidance when I needed. If you’re looking for somewhere that values your ideas and helps grow, whilst providing opportunities across industries and locations, its WSP.
