Over deze vacature
Are you an experienced Sales Manager who knows how to combine technology and commerce? Then Royal Houdijk has an exciting international opportunity for you.
Apply here
About the job As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for further developing Royal Houdijk’s commercial position within your international sales region. You will strengthen relationships with existing customers, actively generate new business and work closely with our local sales organisations and agents.
At Royal Houdijk, we do not sell standard solutions. Every customer has their own unique requirements and challenges. You will identify their needs and, together with our technical specialists, translate these into tailored system solutions.
From identifying the initial commercial opportunity to negotiating and closing the deal, you take ownership of the entire commercial process.
This is an international position without a fixed office location. Depending on your sales region and activities, you will work flexibly while regularly travelling to customers, partners, trade shows and Royal Houdijk locations.
Your key responsibilities
- Further developing your international sales region.
- Actively expanding our business with both existing and new customers.
- Identifying market developments, customer needs and new commercial opportunities.
- Independently generating and following up on new projects and leads.
- Translating customer requirements into commercial opportunities and working with System Engineering to develop the right technical solution.
- Preparing calculations, quotations and commercial proposals.
- Negotiating commercial terms and conditions and successfully closing deals.
- Representing Royal Houdijk at international trade shows, events and seminars.
What we offer Working at Royal Houdijk means being part of an organization with a personal approach, short lines of communication, and an open, informal working environment where collaboration comes naturally.
We are driven by development. Not only in terms of technology, but especially when it comes to the personal and professional growth of our people. With the right guidance and a positive, supportive work climate, we encourage you to bring out the best in yourself.
In addition, we offer an attractive benefits package that reflects the value we place on our employees.
What you can expect
- An attractive gross monthly salary based on a 40-hour working week and a bonus scheme linked to commercial results.
- 15 vacation days / 6 sick days / 9 company holidays.
- A car allowance.
- Attractive additional employee benefits.
- Health and retirement benefits in accordance with the applicable local employment package.
- Flexible working arrangements suitable for an international sales role.
- Internal and external training opportunities to continuously develop your knowledge.
- A challenging international position within an innovative, specialised and internationally operating company.
What you bring For this position, we are not looking for an Area Sales Manager who waits for enquiries to arrive. You are entrepreneurial, commercially driven and proactive. You enjoy developing markets, winning new projects and building long-term relationships with international customers.
At the same time, you feel comfortable working in a technical environment. You do not need to design our systems yourself, but you understand technology well enough to communicate effectively with both customers and our engineers and to understand the value of our technical solutions.
Key qualifications
- A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable discipline.
- At least five years of relevant commercial experience, preferably in the international sales of technical products, machinery or systems.
- Experience within manufacturing, machine building or a comparable technical environment.
- Experience in developing international markets and building long-term customer relationships is considered an advantage.
- Experience with costing methods and preparing and reviewing commercial calculations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a regular basis.
