Project Specification Research on Alternatives to Microsoft Copilot for Integration with SURF’s AI-hub
SURF has developed the AI-hub platform for developing and integrating AI applications via an API. This platform provides access to on-premise LLMs (large language models) and the necessary infrastructure. However, in Microsoft Office (where many users want to integrate AI functionality), it is not possible to choose which LLMs to use without an add-on. SURF aims to explore which add-ons in Microsoft Office could serve as a viable alternative to Copilot by integrating them with AI-hub. The goal of this project is to explore alternatives to Microsoft Copilot that can be integrated with the SURF AI platform, AI-hub. This aims to enhance the functionality of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) by leveraging the power of SURF’s LLMs.

wat wij van jou verwachten
For this project, UniPartners Delft is looking for a proactive TU Delft student with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience with AI technology. Familiarity with add-on development for Microsoft Office or similar platforms is preferred. The student should be able to work independently, and experience with pilot implementations or technical testing is considered a plus.
