What does a Data Architect do at Blenddata?
As a Data Architect, you develop the blueprint for the infrastructure for projects at clients such as Damen Shipyards, Nationale-Nederlanden and De Lage Landen. You design the architecture based on your past experience and your research. You are the mastermind behind the infrastructure your fellow Data Engineers put in place at the customer’s site. You think up integration patterns, talk to the client’s architects and engineers to understand their needs and are the point of contact for the overview of the technical solution.
By combining a strong technical base with the ability to keep an overview, you understand the complexity of an enterprise landscape. As a result, you bridge the gap between management and development teams and know how to firmly advise product owners and fellow architects. You work according to proven frameworks such as TOGAF and DMBOK and have an eye for subjects like security, governance and compliance. Within your frameworks, platform and data engineers can build a Champions League-level data platform.

What is expected of me as a Data Architect at Blenddata?
Experience in creating reference architectures and documenting solution blueprints (e.g. C4 model or ArchiMate)
Experience in some or all Microsoft Azure Data Services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Explorer, Azure DevOps, …)
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and CICD best practices
Knowledge of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK) is a plus
Experience with or affinity for data quality, data governance, metadata management and lineage tools is a plus
You are structured and analytical, can easily make abstractions and have a problem-solving mind
You can bridge the gap between technology and business and bring stakeholders along in a change process in which data is central
You take security-by-design, data privacy (such as GDPR) and compliance requirements into account in your architectures
You can design modular data platforms that are easy to maintain and extend
You coach less experienced colleagues and review their work
You identify project risks and advise stakeholders on both technical and strategic levels
You know how to proactively manage customer expectations and build long-term relationships

What does our perfect match look like?
You have at least 4 years of working experience as a Data Architect
You have a completed university degree (WO) in Computer Science, Data Science or another quantitative field
You have the ambition to take data engineering to the next level. You create impact within your team with best practices and knowledge sharing

You communicate in a way that suits your audience. Whether they are technical or non-technical stakeholders, your advice is clear and well thought-out

You enjoy working in a team and contribute to an open and informal culture
You speak and write Dutch and English fluently

How will you be rewarded for this position?
: between €4,200 and €6,000 per month, depending on your experience
