Corrosion Engineer – The Hague

For a major Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) infrastructure project in the Netherlands, we are seeking an experienced Senior Corrosion Engineer. The project involves the development of large-scale onshore and offshore CO₂ transportation infrastructure, including high-pressure pipelines, offshore facilities and connections to depleted gas reservoirs in the North Sea. This technically challenging project plays a key role in Europe's energy transition.

Wat ga je doen?

As Senior Corrosion Engineer, you will provide specialist engineering expertise to ensure the integrity, reliability and long-term performance of pipeline systems and associated infrastructure:

• Develop and review corrosion control strategies for onshore and offshore pipelines.
• Assess internal and external corrosion risks, particularly for high-pressure CO₂ transportation systems.
• Provide technical expertise on material selection, corrosion allowances, coatings and cathodic protection.
• Review engineering specifications, corrosion assessments and pipeline integrity documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international codes and standards.
• Work closely with pipeline, materials, process and integrity engineering teams and external contractors.

Functie-eisen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, preferably 20+ years, in corrosion engineering for major pipeline projects.
• Extensive experience with onshore and offshore pipeline systems within Oil & Gas, Energy or CCS projects.
• Strong knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, material selection, cathodic protection and pipeline integrity management.
• Familiarity with applicable ISO, NACE/AMPP, DNV and pipeline engineering standards.
• Experience with CO₂ transportation and dense-phase CO₂ corrosion challenges is a strong advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Available for an interim assignment.
• Eligible and willing to work in the Netherlands.

Dit pakket is altijd marktconform.
• Wanneer een specifieke opdracht kan worden uitgevoerd door een ZZP-er, spreken wij een tarief af voor het zelfstandig uitvoeren van deze opdracht bij onze opdrachtgever. Hiervoor moet zowel de klant, de opdracht als de ZZP-er aan verschillende voorwaarden voldoen.
• In een aantal gevallen is onze klant op zoek naar een kandidaat voor de uitbreiding van haar eigen organisatie. In die gevallen wordt de arbeidsovereenkomst aangegaan met onze klant en zo ook de uiteindelijke arbeidsvoorwaarden (rechtstreeks) afgestemd.
