For a bank I'm searching for a interim Regulatory Data Expert with experience in credit risk, liquidity, capital, and statistical reporting.
For a bank I’m searching for a interim Regulatory Data Expert with experience in regulatory reporting and data-heavy, regulated processes, and familiarity with data related to credit risk, liquidity, capital, and statistical reporting.
The bank has launched a reporting data improvement project as part of the larger Finance/Risk initiative, which aims to implement subledgers and replace the general ledger. The data improvement workstream focuses on automating regulatory reports in OneSumX, removing manual work and workarounds, addressing core data quality issues, and implementing vertical and (partly) horizontal lineage.
The goal of this assignment is to contribute to the data improvement project by:

  • Delivering the relevant epics in time and demonstrating clear business value.
  • Helping embed improved data management and governance practices (including roles and responsibilities) within the reporting data pipeline.
  • Ensuring clear documentation and a smooth handover to Business-as-Usual (BaU), as the long-term ambition is to integrate this project into the bank’s standard operations.

Deliverables include automation in OneSumX, improved lineage documentation, reduction of manual reporting processes, and input into the target end-state design for the bank’s data and reporting landscape

  • Analyze reporting and data requirements from both regulatory and software (OneSumX) perspectives.
  • Act as a liaison between Business-as-Usual reporters and technical/Business Analyst staff.
  • Support vertical data lineage mapping (potentially using AI tools, pending budget approval).
  • Document analyses, lineage results, and improvement steps.
  • Implement tactical EUC (End User Computing) solutions where relevant.
  • Support drafting of requirements for the target end-state of the data and reporting landscape.

The candidate will be successful if they

  • Deliver relevant project epics on time, demonstrating tangible business value.
  • Are a visible and enthusiastic advocate for the project’s goals, motivating others to contribute.
  • Provide clear documentation and ensure proper handover to BaU.
  • Are proactive and able to work independently rather than only in the background.

The project team consists of a Project Lead, Reporting Data Experts, people of the a cross-functional Risk/IT team and supporting roles in Finance and Data Management. The main beneficiary of this project is the Regulatory Risk Management & Reporting team, which ensures compliance with prudential regulatory requirements and provides data for financial risk management and financial statements. The candidate will report to the project lead and work closely with colleagues from Risk, Finance, and IT.

  • Industryexperience Banking is essential, specifically in regulatory reporting or related domains, with strong exposure to data management.
  • Hard skills
  • Proven experience with regulatory reporting and data-heavy, regulated processes.
  • Familiarity with data related to credit risk, liquidity, capital, and statistical reporting.
  • IFRS knowledge not required, but affinity with accounting processes is helpful.
  • Ability to combine a helicopter view with hands-on detail when needed.
  • Understanding of how complex organizations work cross-departmentally.
  • Some exposure to reporting software (e.g., OneSumX or similar) preferred.
  • Not a technical role, but ability to think in terms of data structure and flow.
  • Soft skills:
  • Team player who complements others’ strengths.
  • Easy to work with — “someone you’d like to work shoulder to shoulder with.”
