Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support a major battery manufacturing development project. This role will focus on site-wide electrical concept design for a large-scale industrial facility, with the opportunity to continue into subsequent project phases, including basic design and detailed engineering.

The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in medium and high voltage power systems, grid connections, and power system studies, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust and efficient electrical infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and support site-wide electrical concept designs for a large industrial manufacturing facility.
• Lead electrical engineering activities related to MV and HV power distribution systems.
• Perform and review power system studies, including:

• Load flow analysis
• Short circuit studies
• Protection coordination
• System modelling and analysis

• Support the development of HV utility and grid connection strategies.
• Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.
• Produce technical reports, design documentation, specifications, and feasibility studies.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical workshops.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance throughout concept and basic design phases.

Experience Required

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience delivering electrical engineering solutions for industrial, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Medium Voltage (MV) electrical systems.
• Proven experience conducting and reviewing power system studies.
• Experience with High Voltage (HV) grid interfaces and utility connections.
• Understanding of electrical network design and power distribution principles.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Desirable

• Experience on battery manufacturing, gigafactory, energy transition, or process industry projects.
• Knowledge of UK and European electrical design standards.
• Experience working on large-scale greenfield industrial developments.
• Previous involvement in concept, FEED, or basic design project phases.
• Experience collaborating with international project teams.
