Seeking dedicated and experienced Travel Licensed Practical Nurses to join our dynamic team. As a Correctional LPN, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a Correctional Center/Facility located in Limestone County, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for compassionate LPNs who are passionate about delivering high-quality healthcare. Position: Licensed Practical Nurse -LPN Location: Groesbeck, TX Schedule: 13-Week Travel Contracts Pay - Starting hourly $38.00 with a Per Diem, calculated on distance traveled What You'll Do: As a Correctional Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of compassionate care in a correctional center at Limestone County Detention Center. Your daily tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
Apply appropriate nursing skills in the area and treatment of inmates/residents.
Operate pill calls, dispense medication, and document as required by applicable policies and/or procedures
Attend sick calls with the physician to see inmates/residents; prepare a list of inmates/residents to be examined; prepare examining room and equipment.
Examine and assess new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries or inmates/residents who become ill or injured; refer inmates/residents to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facilities as required by their condition.
Monitor, as directed, inmate/resident inpatient hospitalizations for early releases whenever appropriate
Regularly evaluate the provision of medical services to prevent the inappropriate use or duplication of those services
Perform emergency procedures as needed and notify Licensed Independent Providers for treatment orders.
Provide guidance, supervise, and monitor nursing care provided by licensed vocational/practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff

Requirements' license in Texas or "Compact" Multi-License
1+ years of recent correctional nursing experience preferred
Must be eligible to work in the United States

Conduct health screenings, assessments, and triage for incoming inmates.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Monitor and document inmate medical histories and vital signs.
Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with facility policies and regulations.
Educate and counsel inmates on health-related issues and self-care.
