Experienced instructors and modern equipment are standard at OGE, as are new technologies: With us, you will be using tablets, digital report books and virtual welding equipment in modern workshops and laboratories or, for example, at our brand-new hydrogen training centre. You will also receive intensive support and will regularly tackle new tasks and assignments in various departments and projects – so you keep learning new things.

During your apprenticeship as a mechatronics specialist at OGE, you will first learn the all-important basics of metal and electrical engineering so that you have a broad foundation of knowledge and skills. This will include manufacturing mechanical components, measuring electrical variables, programming mechatronic systems, setting up and testing electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems and assembling modules. A large part of your training will also deal with occupational safety.

As an industrial mechanic, you will be an all-rounder with a wide range of responsibilities in maintaining and servicing our technical equipment. Your training will cover control systems, pneumatics and hydraulics, as well as inspection and repair services.
During your training as an industrial mechanic at OGE, you will learn how to read technical drawings, work with tools and manufacture components using computer-aided machines. You will also operate various systems and use modern measuring equipment to check the quality of your workpieces.
The apprenticeship will give you a feel for accurate and precise work, which is essential in your future profession. When sawing, drilling, welding and cutting, you must always comply with health and safety regulations, which will form a central part of your curriculum.

Your job with even more versatility
Your degree apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic at OGE is extremely varied. With us, you will learn to read technical drawings, work with various tools and manufacture workpieces using the latest machines, such as a computer-controlled lathe.
You will operate mechanical equipment and systems, but will also undertake maintenance and repair work. You will use modern measuring equipment to check the quality of your workpieces with millimetre precision, and through the apprenticeship you will gain a feel for accurate and precise work, which is essential in your future profession. When sawing, drilling, welding and cutting, you must always comply with health and safety regulations, which will form a central part of your curriculum.
Instead of a vocational college, you will attend Bochum University of Applied Sciences, where you will deepen your knowledge of mechanical engineering and mechatronics. Your degree course will cover subjects such as thermodynamics, design engineering and materials science.

Your job to energise our business
Our electrical systems supply our plant and equipment with electricity. When systems fail, our electronics technicians will look for the fault, piecing together clues like detectives. They are all-rounders trained to programme, configure and test systems and safety equipment. Armed with modern technology, they start troubleshooting. Regular extensive inspections, routine maintenance and continuous improvements allow us to avoid downtimes.
During your training as an electronics technician at OGE, you will first learn important basics to acquire a broad foundation of knowledge and skills. This will include calculating, designing and measuring electronic circuits, assembling and wiring devices and machines and much more. You will learn all about electrical power supply and how to programme control systems. Occupational safety will be a central part of your training. Applicable regulations and safety rules must always be observed when you are handling electrical and electronic circuits.

During your training as an industrial clerk at OGE, you will work in the departments that form the backbone of our company, including Human Resources, Materials Management and Accounting. You will learn all you need to know to keep processes in the company running smoothly.
The degree apprenticeship will allow you to gain both theoretical and practical experience in our organisation. After the two-year apprenticeship, you will choose the departments that reflect your focus for your full-time studies. This dual qualification is a great way to shape your future!
The great thing is that you are directly connected to OGE and join us full-time straight away after your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.

Whether it’s for power stations, large industrial companies or municipal utilities: the quality of the natural gas supplied is key for every single customer. The composition of the gas also determines the way it is used. Large industrial companies need a high calorific value in order to maintain their production, while municipal utilities must first meet the needs of households.
Training as a chemical laboratory technician at OGE will open up many opportunities for your future. In our laboratory, you will learn how to determine the composition and properties of various substances, examine their content by photometric analysis and perform metrological tasks. You will be able to prepare, carry out and, of course, evaluate experiments yourself. Occupational safety will also play a major role during your training.
