Procurement Specialist

This role is responsible purchasing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Create, process, and manage purchase orders in SAP for direct and indirect materials. Ensure purchasing master data and pricing is accurate to support an efficient MRP output. Source and evaluate suppliers in line with Approved Supplier Lists and quality standards. Ensure purchased materials meet regulatory and quality requirements. Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to ensure continuity of supply. Work closely with Quality Assurance to support supplier qualification, audits, and performance reviews Maintain accurate and compliant procurement records within SAP, ensuring full traceability (batch/lot control where applicable) Manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality issues, and corrective actions Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new product introductions and change controls. Expedite deliveries and resolve supply chain issues to minimise production disruption Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and compliance standards Address invoice discrepancies and support finance with 3-way matching (PO, GR, Invoice)
What your background should look like
Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, ideally within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or a regulated environment Strong working knowledge of SAP Understanding of quality systems and regulatory standards Experience managing supplier relationships in a controlled supply chain Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail, especially regarding data accuracy and traceability Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
