Financial Intercedent (Payroll & Billing)
As Financial Intercedent at City Jobs in Amsterdam-Noord, you are responsible for the financial backbone of our staffing operations. You process and verify timesheets and payroll input, create and send invoices, monitor margins, and answer questions from both clients and temps. With your experience in the staffing industry and your financial insight, you help us further professionalize and automate our processes.

You love numbers — but you’re just as comfortable with people. You get energy from a flawless payroll run, accurate invoicing, and healthy margins. Furthermore, you already know the staffing world, and now you’re looking for a role where commercial drive, Finance and HR come together. Your role as Financial Intercedent: You work closely with clients, flex workers, back-office and management. You safeguard the quality of our time, payroll and invoicing processes — and you continuously look for improvements. Among other things, you will be responsible for:
Checking and processing as the start of payroll processing
Preparing and verifying payroll processing for flex workers (together with back-office/payroll administration)
Applying and checking , allowances, reimbursements and reservations
Acting as City Jobs’ contact person for
Creating, checking and sending
Monitoring and spotting unusual deviations or errors
Answering questions from clients and flex workers about salary, payslips, rates and invoices
Contributing ideas to improve and automate financial workflows
Supporting management with reports and insights
You combine the precision of a finance professional with the flexibility of a staffing consultant. You enjoy diving into data, and you communicate easily with people who “aren’t into numbers.” You:
Have experience in the staffing industry (e.g., as an intercedent, back-office or payroll specialist)
Are financially skilled: you understand payroll basics, margins, rates and invoicing
Preferably know the , or you’re willing to learn it quickly
Work accurately and structured, with a strong quality mindset
Feel confident in and in time & payroll systems
Communicate clearly and customer-focused — even when the answer is “no”
Have MBO+ / HBO-level thinking; a financial education or is a plus.
