Join a Leading Mining Operation as a Senior Mechanical Engineer!

We are seeking a highly experienced and professionally registered Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our mining operation. This role is ideal for a proven engineering professional with extensive experience in surface mining environments, particularly within the gold and copper mining sectors. This position is based in Johannesburg.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering leadership and technical expertise across mining operations.

• Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of mobile and fixed plant equipment.

• Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation and commissioning.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and equipment performance.

• Ensure compliance with all mining, safety, environmental, and engineering standards.

• Support maintenance strategies and asset management programs.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve operational and business objectives.

Qualifications And Skills Requirements

• BSc Mechanical Engineering or BEng Mechanical Engineering degree.

• 12 to 15 years' proven engineering experience within the mining industry.

• Must hold Professional Registration (Pr. Eng) with the relevant engineering body.

• Professional Engineer registration is mandatory. Technician registrations will not be considered.

• Extensive surface mining experience is essential.

• Additional underground mining experience will be advantageous.

• Demonstrated experience within gold and copper mining operations.

• Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Excellent problem-solving, maintenance, and operational optimization capabilities.
